A highland city blessed in its natural environment

Saku City is an area blessed in its natural environment, with a view of Mt. Asama to the north and the Yatsugatake Mountains to the south, surrounded by Mt. Tateshina, Mt. Futago, and Mt. Arafune, and with the Chikuma River running through the highland city from north to south. Sunny days are plentiful, summers are cool and winters are cold, but the city gets little snow, and you can look up and see a star-filled sky at night.

Also, not only do the Hokuriku Shinkansen and Joshin-etsu Expressway run through it from east to west, providing exceptional access to the Tokyo area, but also the development of the Chubu-Odan Expressway is a part of the comprehensive high-speed transportation network serving this town.
