Not too country, but rather “just country enough”

“The mountain where I chased rabbits, The river where I fished for small carp, Dreams of it still come to me, The hometown I can’t forget”

Everyone in Japan knows the song “Furusato.” Its songwriter, Takano Tatsuyuki, was born and raised in Nakano City, where nature abounds, there are beautiful mountains, and Japan’s unspoiled furusato or “hometown” landscapes still remain.

On the other hand, there are also plenty of supermarkets and home improvement centers! There are 2 expressway interchanges, the Shinkansen station is nearby, and it can be reached from Tokyo in 2 hours at the minimum, which is ideal access to the metropolitan area. While this is the countryside, living here isn’t inconvenient, as it’s not too country but rather “just country enough.” Agriculture thrives here, and we are proud to be among the largest and highest quality producers of mushrooms in the country, with orchards and vineyards producing apples, grapes, peaches, and cherries also a point of pride.

In October 2020, a co-working space opened on the 2nd floor of the Nakano Area Job Training Center. Freelancers are free to use the work space when they like, it can serve as a work place during business trips, teleworkers can use it as a place to form a community, and so on, with the space able to be used in a many different ways. Naturally, you can bring your own computer, but there are also computers there (Windows and Mac) you are free to use for work or as you like.

And in the fall of 2021, multiple facilities opened with co-working spaces where you can also stay, targeting the needs for telework from the metropolitan area and with the theme of “Creating Related Populations.” While this is the countryside, it’s not too country, but rather “just country enough,” and we eagerly await everyone visiting.
